Description

The Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht could be considered a hidden gem. The discrete exterior almost overtly conceals the sophisticated luxury inside. The interior of this 5-star hotel along Prinsengracht canal, is completely designed by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. Andaz Hotel offers 122 luxury design hotel rooms including 5 stylish suites. All rooms offer complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks from the mini-bar, local phone calls and Wi-Fi

Stunning design hotel offering world class service and facilities

With the opening of Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht Hotel in 2013, Amsterdam gained an amazing 5-star hotel, where luxury and comfort are the standard. Built in the former Amsterdam Library, which for a long time was considered an eye-sore of geometric, brick vernacular, almost bombastic architecture amongst the gorgeous, historic canal houses of the Prinsengracht, the stunning interior design almost compensates for the harsh exterior.

Perfectly located on one of Amsterdam’s grandest canals, it is a perfect basis for exploring the city, and a convenient retreat after a day of exploring the beauty of Amsterdam. It is also the perfect hotel for events such as Kings Day and Amsterdam Canal Pride, with the rooms that face the canal offering a perfect view of the comings and goings of boats and festivities.

The Bluespoon Restaurant and Bar features a “farm to table” approach to the culinary arts and I am dying to try their surprisingly affordable menu. And when I do, you can be sure a review will be posted on Conscious Travel Guide.

I particularly like the fact that dogs are allowed in the hotel as well as in Bluespoon Restaurant and Bar, demonstrating the relaxed and inclusive attitude of a somewhat exclusive hotel.
