IJburg is built on seven artificial islands of reclaimed land and the area is an eclectic mix of modern architectural styles. In the Summer there are public swimming areas on the IJmeer with a groovy and lively beach bar, serving drinks, food and chilled tunes. It is also an excellent area to cycle with an easy connection to beautiful Durgerdam and Waterland just across the bridge.
