The Lobby is the sort of place that you almost expect is going to be “too painfully hip”. Well nothing could be further from the truth. Sure, its very groovy, very hip, in a 70s furnishings meets industrial exposed concrete meets old wooden window frames kind of way. But the welcome is warm and inviting, not just from the lighting and temperature but by the friendliness and openness of the staff. Like they are truly happy to see you and that they are looking forward to not only serving you, but getting to know you a bit. The Lobby is part of Hotel V on Nes.
Hip and groovy, incredibly friendly, the sort of place you really want to hang out at
The Lobby is a welcoming bar-restaurant – perfect for a wine, cocktail and/or nibble after an evening at one of the nearby theatres on the Nes; or for a delicious dinner, lunch or even breakfast or brunch! This bar-restaurant in the ancient heart of Amsterdam, is a perfect choice on every occasion. The Lobby offers an excellent dining menu and includes a 3-course menu for a very reasonable price. They also offer a great array of bar snacks – including their now famous “Flammkuchen” (which can of course also be ordered as a meal). Known also as “Tarte Flambé” it is an almost paper thin base of pastry with delicate toppings from the Alsace region – perfect to nibble on while you sip one of their many cocktails or sample one of the many wines on their menu. And if you do not know what you want to drink, their knowledgeable staff is only too happy to assess your tastes and come up with a fitting suggestion.
Service is incredibly friendly and attentive and the space is comfortable and relaxed. They have an ornate bar along one wall, an open fireplace for those cosy winter evenings and a terrace overlooking Nesplein for those balmy summer evenings. The Lobby at Hotel V on Nes has a great vibe (without unnecessarily loud music), relaxed but groovy atmosphere and wonderful friendly, welcoming and attentive service all for a very reasonable price. What more could you want? And situated in the heart of Amsterdam it definitely encourages you to go back for more. We surely do and cannot recommend The Lobby highly enough. So maybe we’ll see you there?!
