VandeMarkt is a beautifully modern and enjoyable restaurant in Amsterdam East. With their good service and delicious, fresh food, they have stolen my heart. The menu changes every day, based on ingredients found at the market that day; hence the name VandeMarkt (‘FromtheMarket’). They work mostly with organic products and products from ecological origin. The staff is very friendly and personable professional, just the way I like it.

Restaurant VandeMarkt serves good and creative food based on the French cuisine. The food is refined, delicious and beautifully presented. They also give special attention to vegetarian meals. On the menu you will find a surprise menus of 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-courses or you can choose for a 3- or 4-course menu where you are given a few options from a small menu card. The staff is especially selected on their friendliness by the family that owns the restaurant. They sure have an eye for good staff!

A more exclusive experience or even a private dining option at VandeMarkt

For a special, more exclusive experience, you can book a table in the Wine Cellar, which is located in the basement. The atmosphere is more intimate and it is quite an experience to sit in between their selection of more than 500 wines, champagnes and liqueurs. The Private Dining Restaurant is an even more exclusive option for when you have something special to celebrate with a larger group of family and friends. Groups varying from 20 up to 65 can book The Private Dining VandeMarkt. We have never done this, so we can’t really say much about it.

Fresh, seasonal, organic food right off the market

VandeMarkt chooses seasonal - not always local - and organic products that are sold that day at the market. They work with suppliers such as butcher Hesseling (NL), who works with organic and sustainable meat producers.

We have no information (yet) on how sustainable their fish and seafood is and how sustainably VandeMarkt runs the restaurant itself.
