Description

Restaurant Saturnino is a charming family owned Italian restaurant. They serve delicious authentic and generous dishes of authentic Italian food, for incredibly reasonable prices. Saturnino is an Amsterdam institution. The service is always friendly and, most of the time, efficient, even when it is very busy. The restaurant has a beautiful Art Nouveau façade, and the interior is always lively and inviting

Italian hospitality in Amsterdam at its best

It is always a joy to eat at Saturnino. Not only from the extensive range of pizzas, pastas, huge fresh salads and excellent array of Italian classic meat and fish dishes, but also from the consistently friendly and welcoming service. My recommendation is to try the piping hot Calzone (one of my favourites) and one of their fantastic salads. The house wine is always a perfect partner to a meal, and you would be crazy not to finish your meal without trying their Tiramisu!. At Saturnino you always feel like you are a valued and appreciated guest. And that is something I truly appreciate and adore about this place. Their dishes are prepared with care and the freshest of ingredients. Portions are very generous and value for money is exceptional in this popular area of town.

A busy restaurant for good reasons

Saturnino is one of those wonderful, reliable establishments that manages to deliver a high quality, consistent and dependable level of service and quality. It has been a staple of the Amsterdam dining scene for years. Located on the Reguliersdwarsstraat, close to the Flower Market and just around the corner from the shopping streets of the Leidsestraat and Heiligeweg, it is always busy. The restaurant is not very big and most of the time it is absolutely packed! We strongly recommend that if you plan on dining at Saturnino on the weekend that you make a reservation in advance. That said, the warm staff will do everything they can to try to accommodate you, should you show up without a booking.

The owners Sebastiano and Petra Saturnino and their team welcome everyone warm-heartedly, no matter whether they know you or not. The restaurant has a huge gay following. This has partly to do with the fact that the restaurant is in one of the main gay streets – Reguliersdwarsstraat – but also because of the war, genuine welcome and service the staff at Saturnino give to everyone.
