Description

zuiderMRKT is a unique food market in Amsterdam South; held on Saturdays. It is unique, because it is a neighbourhood initiative, which has been proven successful since the start in September 2011. On the zuiderMRKT you will find fresh products – mostly organic, sustainable and/or local: organic mushrooms, wines, cheeses, meat, vegetables, flowers and more. Besides the regular stalls, the market also has a ‘rotation stall’. This stall is for one of the neighbours, to showcase his or her specific neighbourhood initiative.

Small neighbourhood market selling quality, organic food

The zuiderMRKT is a very enjoyable market; small, but with a nice communal feel to it. The co-operative that some neighbours formed, wanted to bring back the community feel into the neighbourhood; a stronger social network close to home. The co-operative is responsible for the fruit and vegetable stall. For this stall they aim to buy organic fruit and organic vegetables straight from local farmers or at least from the Netherlands. The other participating stall owners are being asked to respect the co-operative’s wish to sell as many organic and sustainable products as possible on the market.

On Saturdays only!

zuiderMRKT aims to have mostly organic and sustainable products

The aim of this food market is to sell organic and sustainable products as much as is possible. As far as we can judge, all the meat, fish and animal products is organic and from well-known, respected suppliers. Besides being organic and sustainable, we appreciate the social aspect of this neighbourhood initiative with a 1-rating.
