Description

IZAKAYA is the restaurant and bar of Sir Albert Hotel. It has a nice terrace with a view over the canal of the Ruysdaelkade. In no time this Japanese restaurant became a hotspot in Amsterdam De Pijp. The chefs at IZAKAYA combine the Japanese Robata grill with their own signature. The concept is authentic but not traditional. The dishes are designed to share with your table partners and gives you the opportunity to get a taste of everything.

High standards on all aspects

Yossi Eliyahoo (MOMO, Amsterdam) is the brains and soul behind IZAKAYA. Executive chef Hariprasad Shetty – previously head chef at London’s restaurant ‘Nobu’ – is responsible for the original menu. If you want a very special evening, then request the Chef’s table and let the chef surprise you with some of his most delicious dishes. As in Sir Albert Hotel, the service in IZAKAYA is impeccable, professional and the staff very handsome (we know it might not be a unique selling point for a restaurant, but it never hurts).

In the weekend the music gets louder later at night and the restaurant turns into a lively bar.

Conscious Japanese dining

As hotel restaurant, IZAKAYA adopts the sustainability policy of Sir Albert Hotel. Sir Albert has set up and published an extensive Manual for Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibilities. They also obtained the Green Globe certification. They train and instruct their employees on environmental and purchasing policies, (food) waste and energy management, proper recycling and the proper use of cleaning products.

Sir Albert Hotel likes to achieve that all products come from organic and/or Fair Trade suppliers, including all food and beverages, bathroom products, linen, towels and textiles, paper, toilet paper, napkins, cleaning products, candles. This doesn’t say that they HAVE achieved it, but the way we know them, we give them the benefit of the doubt. Restaurant IZAKAYA offers vegetarian and vegan dishes.
